I'm not sure how much help I can be. I use a Macbook Pro on our wireless network at school here about 3 to 4 times a week (usually during class ;-)), though not all of it is accessing CAS protected resources. I've never noticed any issues, though we use the Java client more frequently than the phpCAS client.
