CAS ultimately uses the Java JNDI API to perform an LDAP bind operation against AD, and whatever attribute AD uses to verify credentials is what you're interested in. Most of the questions on this thread have been entirely LDAP/AD questions (with some identity management workflow thrown in to complicate matters), and have had little to do with CAS.
