Thanks for pointing those links out, Benn. Maybe some folks are still using Shib 1.1, so the first link might be helpful to them. As for the second link, the configuration uses JAAS for LDAP auth and the important integration steps come much later in the document. Additionally, they're pretty dated. Hopefully I'll be able to provide more succinct and generic instructions for making CAS the authentication provider for Shib.
