They talk a lot about 'Banner Enterprise Identity Services', but it's not a server itself, just the functions that send identity information between the Banner applications. The Banner group is just starting the analysis of the upgrade process, so I haven't actually tested the authentication yet, but the the changes that they include in Appendix D of that document do compile and 'seem' to work -- I can go to CAS_SERVER/bannerValidate and I get a response, but I don't have a Banner 8 server to test against yet.
