We run our CAS instances in the following scenario: 1. CAS is fronted by a Cisco ACE device 2. Two active CAS servers backed by Memcache/Repcache 3. ACE handles SSL (we're behind a "trusted" network) 4. We run on Tomcat, but fronted by Apache. Its our standard way of doing it for all applications.
