For the next release of CAS we are switching to using Perf4j which does have
a way to expose its data as JMX:

http://perf4j.codehaus.org/devguide.html#Exposing_Performance_Statistics_as_JMX_Attributes

That version of CAS has not been released yet but is currently being
actively worked on.
