I am seeking opinions on "best practices" when configuring CAS.

Before deploying CAS it is necessary to modify the deployerConfigContext.xml
and then compile CAS. We also have a custom authentication module similar to
the X509 module that also requires modification.

This means that I need to modify and recompile CAS between deployments for our
deployments to DEV, TEST and PROD.

Our CAS source is in our local CVS repository and we use Hudson for our build
engine. I would like to remove this configuration data from the build process
such that we could deploy the same cas.war file to all environments with the
need to edit, commit and then build.

It would be nice to be able to modify an external file on the application
server so that we could easily change LDAP server addresses, user names and
passwords.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
