Scott,

Thanks for the tip. I am quite new to CAS and SSO. Does setting the
getRemoteUser property in the client, set the REMOTE_USER server
environment variable.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with LiveLink. If you can "CASify" it with the Java
client, the Java Client will set the getRemoteUser property
automatically.

If LiveLink is not a Java application, you should probably look at
mod_auth_cas.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi All,

Your thoughts on this will be much appreciated.

We have cas 3 working with tomcat 5.5 good for a couple of years now.
There is a need to extend the SSO to Livelink as we want to capitalize
on our investments there.

Livelink allows SSO if you set the REMOTE_USER environment variable
correctly. This is from the documentation.

How do I go about setting the REMOTE_USER in tomcat. Do I need to
consider Apache and mod_auth_cas?

Current set up is as follows.

One cas server backed by a Sun Directory.

Two web servers load balanced by CISCO ACE.

Users hit the web app and get redirected to CAS. CAS authenticates and
issues ticket and the user is then back into the app.

We want to be able to get to the Livelink servlet through my existing
web app.

Thanks for you
