I ran into the same issue with a jBoss 4 to jBoss 5 upgrade.  I got jBoss to
stop complaining by exploding the JAR, changing the persistence.xml file,
rebuilding the jar, and redeploying.  The change you make to the config
really depends on your deployment environment and how you are running jBoss,
I guess... although I think in the end, I just ended up getting rid of the
CasPersistence declaration (and the CAS webapp seems to work fine without it
in its default configuration).
