We have an open issue for this bug (the losing the value when the session ends). I'll probably take a look at it over the weekend. Also, Spring Web Flow 2 broke client-side repositories, but Spring Web Flow 3 will bring it back. Someone wrote a client-side repository for Spring Web Flow 2 that I would include in the releases if I could locate the source code (its allegedly attached to a JIRA issue at Spring Source but I can't find it)
