Fabio, I hope I have understood your question correctly. CAS seems to set REMOTE_USER http header with the username of the user. This is available in the Client therefore you can pass it along to anything you want.

A standard approach would have been to authenticate with CAS and then ask LDAP for attributes... but here CAS is fully hiding LDAP behind himself and I need at least the authenticated Username from CAS in order to let my IdP to play with any attributes. I'm a newbie with CAS so my question is: Would it be possible to have the CAS client to retrieve the Username when authenticating with CAS server, and then pass it forward to shibboleth IdP? Thanks in advance for any idea!
