What method are you using to replace the property placeholder in the
following XML element:
<value>${ldap.host.1}</value>
If that value is not replaced with a meaningful LDAP URL by Spring
machinery or property filtering at build time, it could explain the
error. Sending relevant startup logs could help confirm this idea.
