I don't remember the exact details, but I had problems with multiple
versions of various hibernate modules being included in the WAR file, and
some versions that flat out didn't work. Once I hard-coded the
dependencies, it was all happy.
This is an area of Java/Maven that disappoints me - dependency hell.
I'm still learning how to set all this stuff up, so maybe one of the CAS
veterans has a different viewpoint. I wish there was a cleaner way to
handle all of this.
