I would like to report a success story! A few months ago, I started looking into getting CAS integrated with our authentication system. About a month ago, our first in-house application went live using CAS. Since then we've deployed 2 new application and CAS-ified a couple existing applications. Today at noon, our first 3rd party vendor went live using CAS!
CAS has solved a number of problems for us: Allowing 3rd parties to use our authentication w/out passing our credentials to them Unify authentication mechanisms for in-house apps Allow other campus entities to use our authentication mechanisms I've recently subscribed to the mailing list and will be making a few changes based on what I've read. Now to business. We were excited to see that CAS supported OpenID, though I now realize that the support is rather broken. I also ran across the roadmap which shows it disappearing in 3.5 and coming back in 3.9. There are some very exciting changes put forth in the roadmap and I'd like to offer some of my time to make it happen. Is the roadmap (which is over a year old) still current, and what tasks are in need of an owner? Thanks, Eric -- Eric J.
