Attribute transformation will almost certainly have policy aspects that are central to CAS function and configuration. It would therefore be unwise to push security policy into an ancillary component like Person Directory. I would like to advocate for a new API in CAS to handle attribute transformation that has all the pluggable capabilities of existing CAS APIs.
