Shyam, I am unaware of any documentation or analysis on this topic.
For regular CAS authentication, resources that require CAS authentication simply cannot be and are not search engine indexed, since the search engine cannot complete the CAS login process. Search engine crawlers never "see" the logged in web application experiences. CAS does have a "gateway=true" feature whereby in the case where a transparent-to-end-user single sign-on cannot be accomplished, CAS redirects back to the application anyway. I don't know offhand whether and how search engine crawlers cope with those redirects. It's an interesting question. If you get to answers about this, please do share.
