Although it's possible through CAS2 protocol, only few clients supports this feature (php-cas supports it). SAML ticket validation is the recommended way to retrieve user attributes and is supported by all (I think, but not sure :-) ) official CAS client libraries.

Are the attributes only for release via SAML 1.1 protocol?

Will it also be possible to release attributes via the CAS2 protocol?

    Hi:

    We have a CAS Server running - it was set-up as a proof of concept.

    It currently authenticates users against the an LDAP which has the 
University's
    students accounts :)

    Next step, I would like to retrieve LDAP attributes, belonging to the user,

    sucessful authentication - the LDAP attributes will be sent to potential 
clients.
