As another followup to different jvm versions.. I am running CAS 3.5.1 using OpenJDK 1.6 packages with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. This is running on Tomcat6. I would've liked to do Tomcat7 and Java 1.7, but I'm also interested in running Shibboleth idP and using CAS as an authentication provider (on the same servers). From what I've read, it might be good to keep using 1.6 and tomcat6 to support the idp. I had asked about different java/tomcat versions in an earlier thread.
I also had a odd issue with the Services Management. I had given multiple services the same "service name". Looking at the logs hibernate was reading all the services from my DB backend, but I only saw a subset in the management application. I think it was only displaying the first or last service where they had the same names. CAS also would not authenticate users if the service was not displayed. I think it would be good to set the service name to be a unique field in the database. It this something new or am I finding a bug? I changed the service names in the DB so everything is unique and everything has been working well (in production even).
