That's what it was...a mismatch of hibernate versions. When I downgraded
my hibernate version to 4.0.1.Final it worked.

Do you see anything peculiar that stands out? Maybe the
hibernate-commons-annotations:jar version?

NoSuchMethodError is typically caused by version mismatch. Can you
