Is this something that the application should know, or is it something you at the CAS layer would want to know to use later on somewhere in the authentication flow?

I want to know whether the user logged on using the ldap or the database. Based on something I read ( https://wiki.jasig.org/display/CASUM/2.+Architecture : 2.3.1.6 section) I thought I could do this using Meta Data Populators, but couldn’t find any documentation on how to use those. Can anyone point me to some documentation that would help?
