Hi Amy, web.xml is the configuration-file for the application-server. pim.xml is for maven, it is used to build cas. (mvn package)
The files are unrelated and do entirely different things. Read about the cas mvn overlay build method and maven itself. Then create a working-directory with your own pom.xml and build cas to your needs, with all the plugins required.
