LDAP error code 49 is usually an bind authentication issue. 52e, I believe is bad username/password. I'm not sure why this error would be displayed when validating a ticket, but I'm still learning CAS 4's new authN infrastructure.
My only thought is, Is your lookup attribute repository account configured properly?
