One popular approach likely is using CAS as an OAuth provider, and there are plenty of other SDKs for mobile platforms that speak oauth that would talk to CAS. As for example apps, I know the Apereo uMobile project uses or has support for CAS, but I don't quite remember how that is done today. It's based on phonegap.
Also, what you should definitely avoid doing is scraping the login screen and grabbing onto the login ticket, and submitting it afterwards in credential replay mode. Very messy. I assume it could be done using the rest api. If anyone has an example iphone / android apps using cas for the auth I would love to see them. Also if anyone has any suggestions as what worked well or what I should avoid in trying to use cas with native android or iphone apps I would appreciate the suggestions.
