I've been experiencing a problem with tomcat restarts hanging since enabling ehcache.
I've done some reading and others using ehcache have had similar symptoms when ehcache isn't told a shutdown is underway, but my logs indicate that it sees the shutdown. To get it to finally shut down, I have to kill the process. I've seen the following in my logs when it happens to me. CAS.log 2015-03-02 15:15:52,908 DEBUG [net.sf.ehcache.distribution.MulticastKeepaliveHeartbeatReceiver] - rmiUrls received //192.168.200.154:4445/cas_st|//192.168.200.154:4445/cas_tgt 2015-03-02 15:15:56,715 INFO [org.jasig.cas.util.AutowiringSchedulerFactoryBean] - Shutting down Quartz Scheduler 2015-03-02 15:15:56,715 INFO [org.springframework.cache.ehcache.EhCacheManagerFactoryBean] - Shutting down EhCache CacheManager 2015-03-02 15:15:56,715 DEBUG [net.sf.ehcache.distribution.MulticastKeepaliveHeartbeatReceiver] - dispose called 2015-03-02 15:15:56,715 ERROR [net.sf.ehcache.distribution.PayloadUtil] - Could not ungzip. Heartbeat will not be working. Not in GZIP format ...nothing else. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
