thanks Scott for your answer. Indeed I'm using CAS 3 and I think most of the
documentation I read give exemples of older versions, which is a little
confusing when analyzing CAS 3 traffic. I switched to the last version of
the PHP CAS client and the PHP application authenticates smoothly  :-)
