We were approached recently with an inquiry about our integration
between CAS, uPortal, and Banner Self-Service.  Our solution is to wrap
around the Yale CAS Java client, and delegate to some PL/SQL procedures
to establish a back-door session with Banner Self-Service.  We imagine
others might find it useful/interesting as well, so we thought we would
