I don't know what version it is (most likely 2.3?). However, newer versions should be backwards compatible and you won't include the servlet.jar in your war file (it will be ignored).

Hello, We have had to slightly modify (and extend) the CASFilter class to meet our needs. This class is part of the cas-client-2.1.1 code base. This codebase also includes a servlet.jar within /lib. My question is, what version is the included servlet.jar? I have looked at the standard servlet.jar files (version 2.2 and 2.3 of the servlet api specs) and they differ from what is bundled into the cas client code base.
