Shi,

We (LSU) have been using the JA-SIG CAS Java 3.0 client with CAS 3.0+
without any issues since this time last year. There have been no
changes in the CAS protocol with CAS 3.0+ that would affect basic
authentication; there have been changes in regards to other protocols
but not authentication. If you are having problems, it would help to
know:

*       Version of CAS server
*       CAS client being used
* Operating systems of CAS server and application server that the
client is protecting
* Servlet container of CAS server and application server
*       Log information (catalina.log, error.log cas.log, etc)

3.1.0

Shi,

All CAS clients for Java should speak the same CAS 1/2 protocol without
issue.

Hi Scott,

During the developing, I found my most confusions were caused by the
version problem. So I think it would be better the java client download
could be tested with the current server version.
