Ezra,

I have an introduction to CAS presentation I like to give in which I
start from the "bad old days" of "multi sign on" and use that to
motivate what is meant by single sign on in the sense CAS means it.

Review of that presentation might help bootstrap perspective on what
CAS is looking to offer you.
