Robert,

Any client can be used to construct a principal based on the results
returned from a ticket validation.  The JASIG CAS Client for Java example
was used because I believe the person was using Java.  The main point is
that the server needs to be aware that it needs to transmit additional
attributes while the client needs to be aware that it needs to pull
additional attributes from the XML.

The SAML 1.1 response already does this.
