Johan Oskarsson commented on CASSANDRA-106:
-------------------------------------------
I am open to other solutions, my main issue is that as a first time user you
will most certainly miss changing of the paths (I always forget the log4j one)
and you will get a screen full of exceptions thrown in your face.
Some semi useful alternatives:
1. Create a setup.sh that does sudo mkdir <cassandrapath>
2. Somehow catch those exceptions and write a more useful log output that
describes the problem and how to fix it.
3. Write more docs about how an ideal setup would look (commit log disk etc)
4. All of the above.
