daishi's "Unable to find a live Endpoint we might be out of live nodes" bug
was almost certainly caused by the same thing. (he has a 3-node cluster.)
for both of us switching to a single seed has fixed the issue for now. (but
ultimately we do want to support multiple seeds for redundancy.)
