we don't need to preserve the tombstone option; let's get rid of it.
(CompactionsTest.testCompactionPurge was failing w/o the option, but that is
because a bug in that code, as called by other tests in the class, is hiding
the bug in testCompactionPurge. I've split the Purge tests into a separate
file in trunk, where it reliably fails before any of 710. Don't worry about
fixing that for this ticket.)
