6. How about retiring the e-mail sender. It’s distributed with core so it imo doesn’t make sense to call it a component on its own.
7. How about retiring the scheduler. No releases planned, no releases yet and there’s already Quartz.net that fulfils the task more than well enough. 8. How about not calling Logging Services just that? They are Logging Adapters or Logging Generalisations etc à PLUS they are released with core, so what’s the aim of having them under services? This is because I think the page title should reflect what is on the page. “Home – Using Castle Project” like for Windsor/MicroKernel is plain wrong imho. We need an alias 302 redirect. For Jonathon/John/responsible party: 1. I still wonder if it’s possible to get FTP access to attach CSS and JavaScript to the pages. 2. What about the rest of the services? When you are planning to merge; should I just do this for the rest of the services, given that we can create a unified view of the services part? I can create the sub pages for the currently non-existent services. 3. I’m aiming to add some horn descriptors for each of these as well… 4. The template engine should really be stand-alone, quick’n’dirty download then… 5. Link to using.castleproject.org from http://castleproject.org/community/index.html please. I'm asking because I still can't get to http://using.castleproject.org/display/Comp/Home. Regarding TemplateEngine, yes it only supports one, NVelocity :( _____ From: Henrik Feldt <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, 2 February, 2010 8:03:33 PM Subject: RE: Services: Documentation I’ve renamed and rewritten http://using.castleproject.org/display/Comp/Components+and+Services Is the section being renamed to “Tools”? Those of you managing the other projects (or not), please see if I made any mistakes in my descriptions and fix them / tell me about them. Here it would be nice to have a four col by two row layout, each with the descriptions in it. See my question about CSS/FTP access. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Henrik Feldt Sent: den 2 februari 2010 09:36 To: [email protected] Subject: Services: Documentation I accidentally pressed the key combo to send the mail. I can only blame it on the fact that my coffee quota of normal operation is yet to be filled this morning. This thread serves as a discussion thread for the documentation under http://using.castleproject.org/display/Comp/Home --- 1. I’m going to rewrite that url to give information about all services with links for each of them. 2. I think we should make the domain better than now. Could you give me some FTP access and I can draft maybe a better layout of information and design? I could attach some of the colorizing scripts too. 3. For transactions I’ll create four pages. 1) Transactions v 1.0.3, 2) Transactions 2.0, 3) TransactionManagement, 4) Txs and IoC. 4. Perhaps the main page /Comp/Home could host a small snippet for each of the project “This is what it’s like”, together with some code, similar to the article I added just now. 5. For each example, a small git path giving you an example where the path links directly to github.com/castleproject/…/example/? Would this be possible? Perhaps in the long run we can create something similar to JQuery’s API reference? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Castle Project Development List" group.
