My (limited) experience with entrepreneurs is they either go Microsoft .NET on Windows through a program like BizSpark or they go completely non-Microsoft for cost/cash flow saving reasons (even as Microsoft works to close that cost gap by releasing free versions of more and more pieces of the development stack).
