ActiveRecord generally makes it quicker to get off the ground. The
attributes makes it very easy to get things working, and without repeating
the configuration in XML files.

It is up to you whether you start with NHibernate directly or not, but it
may be easier to get a prototype working with ActiveRecord as you are
learning the two.
