Hi Eelco,

Sorry for taking so long!
Yes that is the correct way to do it, but it looks like from the stacktrace
that the Asp view engine has a bug.
Can u please fill in a bug report, in our issue tracker.

Cheers John

How best to handle controller not found exceptions with the AspView
engine?
I read some where on the interwebz that simply adding a 404 view to
rescues would suffice but that results in a null reference exception
however.

[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an
object.]
 Castle.MonoRail.Views.AspView.AspViewBase.Initialize(AspViewEngine
newViewEngine, TextWriter output, IEngineContext newContext,
IController newController, IControllerContext newControllerContext)

 Castle.MonoRail.Views.AspView.AspViewEngine.CreateView(Type type,
TextWriter output, IEngineContext context, IController controller,
IControllerContext controllerContext) +137
 Castle.MonoRail.Views.AspView.AspViewEngine.GetView(String
templateName, TextWriter output, IEngineContext context, IController
controller, IControllerContext controllerContext) +354

[AspViewException: Cannot create view instance from 'rescues\404'.]

controller, IControllerContext controllerContext) +494

controller, IControllerContext controllerContext) +108
 Castle.MonoRail.Views.AspView.AspViewEngine.Process(String
templateName, String layoutName, TextWriter output, IDictionary`2
parameters) +383

Castle.MonoRail.Framework.Services.DefaultViewEngineManager.Process(String
templateName, String layoutName, TextWriter output, IDictionary`2
parameters) +108

Castle.MonoRail.Framework.NotFoundHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext
context) +304

System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute()
+181
 System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step,
Boolean& completedSynchronously)

I'm a relative noob with monorail should i'd really appreciate some
guidance :)
