No it is not by design, it is a bug :( Can you please submit a bug report in http://issues.castleproject.org/issues/MR
And if you feel up to it, send us a patch to fix it :) Cheers John ________________________________ From: Bergius <[email protected]> To: Castle Project Users <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, 22 September, 2010 1:43:26 AM Subject: Disposal of rescue controllers Hello. As far as I can see in http://github.com/castleproject/Castle.MonoRail/blob/master/src/Castle.MonoRail.Framework/Controller.cs, rescue controllers are created through the controller factory, but never released (thus not disposed). The AbstractControllerFactory does not keep any references to the controller, so it's probably not a problem in that sense, but it seems odd and counter-intuitive. Is this by design, or an issue that should be corrected? It's a potentially breaking change, if people have been relying on being able to have their rescue controllers inherit controllers implementing IDisposable without Dispose being invoked.
