I use this way:

to configure my components. I have a component that depends on an
array of strings. One string in that array must be empty (that's
substantial to the component. the array represents a collection of
file extensions. file extension can surely be emtpy).
Is there a way to set a parameter value to empty string instead of
null.
P.S.
I use:
<component id="tests_zipper">
<parameters>
<inputExts>
<array>
<item>test</item>
<item></item>
</array>
</inputExts>
</parameters>
</component>
and it doesn't work...
