I haven't looked to deeply at combress (I just learned of it from your message), but it seems to be just a wrapper around a number of other free-ware technologies (YUI Compressor, Google Closure and dotlesscss), to serve (manually) pre-defined bundles of files. The Javascript VC builds bundles like that on the fly. As I explained in my last message, if you are going to have multiple levels, each requesting different JS libraries, it's difficult to know exactly which files to put into the bundle (unless you go for an inclusive policy, e.g., allways including all of jQuery UI even if you only need one widget, which kind of defeats the point of minimizing in the first place). However, within the the architecture of the Javascript VC, it would be easy to use Combress as a model for adding those features. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Castle Project Users" group.
