Okay, I finally got a bit of time to make sure that my CC server will send authenticated SMTP emails. I had to patch it from SmtpMail to SmtpClient (2.0) to get it to work, but it was simpler than the other solutions.
You can get the cc.net build messages by subscribing to the commit list.

I had to move the CC build machines, so it is a little flakey at the moment.

On the other hand, it gives me a chance to document what Castle needs to build peacefully, so far it is:
  • Sql Server with 2 databases (Just to note, SQL Server is not mandatory, any database will do, SQL server is just the default).
    • Test
    • Test2
  • .Net SDK for 1.1 & 2.0
I attached the ccnet.config, in case anyone wants to create their own local build.
