change the line in the database.xml
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@bpromote:1521:ORCL?user=system">
to
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:system/manager@bpromote:1521:ORCL">
oracle does not understand the "?user=xxxx" parameter as listed in the
Castor Docs.
