Hi Matthew,
-> Quoting from: http://castor.exolab.org/tips-tricks.html
->
-> "Using a logger with org.exolab.castor.mapping.Mapping will provide
detailed
-> information about mapping decisions made by Castor, as well as show
the SQL
-> statements being used." Although marshalling isn't mentioned
specifically I
-> would expect, since it supports the interface, something *along the
lines of*
-> "Using a logger with org.exolab.castor.xml.Marshaller will provide
trace
-> messages showing conflicts between the XML document and loaded
objects."
->
-> Which is not happening. Is the facility broken? Am I using it
wrong? Or
-> was it intended to do this and never got implemented? I'd like to
know so
-> that I can, if necessary, stop wasting time and try another debugging
-> approach.
->
Unfortunately for you, the feature never got implemented yet. We have an
item on the to-do list that says that we need to change the error
reporting support, provide clearer error messages and extend the use of
the logger but as you might guess this is not high-priority, we have
other items to complete before in order to reach 1.0.
You can still add the feature to the Marshaller class by yourself if you
feel confident with the code.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Arnaud
