Yes I get the same exception with this message :

The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference.

does it work w/o that perticular element/are you sure you have isolated the error "as here"?

for starters and not very castor oriented; that is not valid XML!

should be 'C&A' instead, as i'm sure someone will tell you soon
