Hi,
I am currently trying to deploy Castor 0.9.3.9 on WebSphere 4.0.x in
J2EE mode, and so far did not have any problems with regards to
configuration and setup.
It was only last night that I realised that in order to have (a) Castor
(Database) instance be managed by WebSphere's transaction coordinator
(through JTA), one needs to configure the transaction manager on the JDO
instance.
Now, looking at some older emails in the archives, it seems like one is
supposed to supply the JNDI name of the transaction coordinator to
Castor via the setTransactionManager() method on the JDO class. Is this
correct ?
Problem is that WebSphere does not seem to expose its transaction
monitor through JNDI, and as such I will not be able to configure Castor
accordingly. Is there another way of using Castor with distributed
transactions through JTA, and if so, can somebody please educate me.
Thanks
Werner
