Hello,
Castor
do not seems to support the xml marshalling/unmarshing of
collections
of
strings.
I
could not manage to make it work (and I have now used castor
for
already severals months), and nobody seems to report any
experience
of
succesfully marshaling / unmarshaling collections (Array or
Vectors) of strings.
Do I
have to assumed that Castor do not support this kind of
unmarshalling?
I also
have noticed that most of the discussion in this mailing list is
focussed
on
JDO. Does it means that the support of xml marshalling /
unmarshalling
in
files (rather than databases) is relatively limited?
Any
suggestion for other xml marshalling/unmarshalling
technologies
that
works well. (simple to use, flexible, is able to
marshall/unmarshall
complexe & relatively big objects into several
files)?
The
context:
I am
designing cognitive agent-based systems in which is articulated
into
the
tree elements:
* a
knowledge base of objects that represent a domain.
* a
sophisticated user model. (which makes reference to the
knowledge
base
as well as the other user models)
* a
set of artificial agents.
I want
to use xml Marshalling/Unmarshalling in order to provide
persistance
to my
framework. (and to a certain extend I want to be able to store
the
user
models in different files.). It is now working reasonably
well
(even
spliting in several files using references), but I went into some
problems
when I
wanted to transform a String attribute into an attribute that is
storing
several Strings.
Thanks

Subject: [castor-dev] Marshaling/unmarshaling Collection of Strings. (pbs)Hello,
I am having some problems unmarshaling
collection of strings.
I have tried both with Vector of Strings
and Array of Strings with the same error
when unmarshaling.
An in each case I have used a Mapping files
(I tried the differents combination in the field
definition, from specifying or not the collection
attribute, the same for the type).
.... (details of the problem)
