I agree. However you can check out using a specific tag. Once tagged,
the source for that tag does not change.
For example checking out with tag: tag_0_9_3_16
This will give you the latest stable version.
The only thing you'll need to do is to modify the etc/VERSION file to
make it 0.9.3.16 instead of 0.9.3.9+ if you want to have the correct
version number in the name of the jar file.
