Sorry, I haven't used inner classes myself. I also seem to remember
that there is an internal limitation requiring that the inner class
be static. I know this is a pain, but try to define the inner class as
static and see if that helps.
If you're really feeling ambitious you could dig in to the source code
and fix it ;-).
