All I know is that Oracle, Sybase (jConnect), MS SQL Server (Opta) and
PostgreSQL drivers support batch operations and Hypersonic SQL doesn't.
If somebody wants to check this for his favorite driver, just call
connection.getMetaData().supportsBatchOperations()
