Hi Neil,

We've been through this a number of times in the past, with mixed views.
In my opinion, if we split the lists we're going to greatly increase the
load on the current contributors and the number of postings will
actually increase for me and those who respond to questions since there
will be many cross-postings. It will take me and the others who actually
respond to questions longer to handle the increased load and since some
users are not going to be on all the lists we will have to handle the
same questions on all the lists.

For example, if I answer a user question on castor-xml-dev, all those on
castor-xml-user won't receieve the answer and vice-versa for all the
lists...so the same questions will be asked and answered far more often
causing increased messages.

That's just my opinion however...I see nightmares of never getting any
coding done because I am too busy with list-overload, of course I may be
over reacting, but this has been my past experience when I was more
involved with some of the projects over at Apache.

I don't think the current sifting through messages on one list is too
bad, usually you can tell from the subject line if the question is for
Castor JDO, Castor XML, or both.

Just my 0.02.
